Anakel support
Last updated: 24 August 2026
Welcome. Here's how to reach us, plus answers to what people ask most about Anakel. If yours isn't here, write to us: we answer every email.
1. Write to us
It's the only support channel, and a person reads it. We reply within 1–2 business days; if you write on a Friday afternoon, expect an answer on Monday or Tuesday.
So that the first reply is already useful, tell us:
- Which phone and which system version you're on (Android or iOS).
- Which version of Anakel you have, if you know it.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot, if the problem is visible.
Your email address is itself personal data and we treat it as such: we keep it only as long as we need to answer you, and then delete it. If what you want is to report a security vulnerability, /.well-known/security.txt says how.
2. Frequently asked questions
I bought Anakel Plus — how do I restore it?
Anakel has no accounts, so the store is what remembers that you paid: the purchase is tied to your Apple or Google account, not to a user of ours. That's what makes it recoverable on a new phone or after reinstalling, which is when the app starts out on the Free plan:
- Sign in to the device with the same Apple or Google account you bought with.
- Open the Me tab, the last one in the bottom bar.
- Tap the Your plan card: the Anakel Plus screen opens.
- At the bottom of that screen, tap Restore previous purchases.
If the purchase is found, you'll see the message Purchases restored and your plan switches to Plus Plan, without paying again: it's a one-time payment, not a subscription, and it doesn't expire.
If you get "Your purchases couldn't be restored.", it's almost always because the device is signed in with a different store account: check that the App Store or Google Play session is the same one you made the original purchase with, and try again. If it still doesn't show up, write to us with the purchase receipt — the email Apple or Google sent you — and we'll look into it.
Settings leads to the same screen — the plan card has an Upgrade button — but the Me → Your plan route is always there, whichever plan you're on.
How do I back up my collection, and how do I restore it?
It all happens in Settings → Data, inside the app, and it's free on every plan:
- Backup — produces a file with your whole collection, covers included. Keep it wherever you like: it's yours and it doesn't expire.
- Restore — on the new phone, install Anakel, go to Settings → Data and pick the file you saved.
- Export — if what you want is to read your data outside Anakel, in CSV for a spreadsheet or JSON to keep it whole.
Switching phones doesn't carry your collection over on its own. Anakel is deliberately excluded from the system's automatic backup, so there's nothing of yours in iCloud or Google Drive to recover it from. Make the manual backup before letting go of the old phone: if you reset it without one, that data can't be recovered — not by us either, because we never had it.
The camera won't scan the barcode
In order, from most to least common:
- The camera permission. On iOS, Phone settings → Anakel → Camera. On Android, Phone settings → Apps → Anakel → Permissions → Camera. If you denied it the first time, the scanner can't open until you grant it there.
- The first time, on Android, you need a connection. Recognition is done by a model that Google Play Services downloads the first time you open the scanner on that device. With no network, that first time won't work; from the second onwards everything happens inside the phone. On a device without Google Play Services the scanner isn't available, but the rest of the app is.
- Light and distance. In poor light, or closer than a hand's width, the code comes out blurry. Pull back a little and let it focus; the whole code has to fit in the frame.
- Scan the barcode, not the QR code. It's the EAN-13/ISBN on the back cover or the box. A bent, creased or plastic-glared one may never read.
If there's still no way, you're not stuck: search by title in the app, or add the item by hand and fill the fields in yourself. It counts exactly the same.
How do I request deletion of my account data?
Anakel has no user accounts and there's no server of ours: you never gave us an email, a name or a phone number, so there's no account to close and no data of yours in our hands to delete. Your collection lives only on your device.
- Uninstalling the app deletes everything, leaving no copy anywhere.
- If you'd rather empty it without uninstalling, you can: the step by step is in Delete your data.
- Before deleting, export whatever you want to keep from Settings → Data.
If you need it in writing, write to soporte@mttechdev.com with the subject [DELETION] and we'll confirm it by email. The only thing that survives uninstalling is the record of your purchase, which is held by Apple or Google and managed from your store account.
Do I need an account or a connection?
No. There's no sign-up and no login, and you can catalogue with the phone in airplane mode indefinitely. The network is only used when you trigger it: searching for a title or scanning a code — Anakel queries public catalogues to fill the fields in for you — and buying or restoring Plus. It's all laid out in the privacy policy.
3. Privacy and terms
